Good morning! I am thrilled to feature more work from Wayne Russell today! I’ve only recently met Wayne and read his work and have already become a big fan! Check out the poems below, and where to buy his work is included at the bottom.

Fires Strewn Across the Galaxies'

In the seething pit of

set adrift, left afloat as

campfire rang out like

a choir, in the dark dregs

of the nights thick elixir,

her hair a bonfire, match

struck just for you, and the

galaxies strewn forth this

eternal heaven, I have been

delivered in the moonstruck

glow of eternity, I am yours

for this, and all eternal night

and of days bleeding lights,

sheading fourth fossils, for

this love of you, and only you.

Upon the Arms of a Nightingale’s Wing

Through taunt arch of nightingale wing,

cast the mind’s eye on a sway of a pendulums

swing, and begot the wrought iron fence, and

summer days of our youth, days spent on shores

of sugar sands, bowing at the soothing mouth of

The Gulf, trust not the mouth of babes and the seething

arms of the lunatic adrift, hitchhiking across the vast

reaches of this vast continent, bant an eye at a pretty

lady, wake up in the recovery room of the broken heart,

this heart of darkness, a boomerang cast like a stark

warning of condescending frosty morn, the fuse is lit,

time ticking and waits for no one, make every second count,

for this candle could be snuffed out in an instant.
