Featured Poet: Linette Rabsatt

Good morning! Today’s feature is a wonderfully talent poet I’ve only just recently been introduced to, Linette Rabsatt. Check out her poetry below, and be sure to read her offerings included within the upcoming anthology Rebirth. Linette also has a book out, I’ll include a purchase link at the bottom.

Gracious

I saw them in the mire

but I still admire their image

so trim but so not like him

not like coming to term

with the grim realities

the game of life and

it’s trivialities

neither the main focus

on the grim but tame winds

that circle the hem

of the main mare’s mane

because you cannot tame

us or ram us into

the abyss

but on my list is

what is mine

and despite the dirt

in the mire I shine

like them

unhemmed

and grazing like a ram

with a gem on its horn

Vivid Pictures

I vividly remember

that sunny day in December

it was a humdrum conundrum

that I can’t explain

as everything seemed

out of sync

too many broken links

entangled kinks

sending me to the brink

of madness

but even as my heart’s sadness

put the sun to rest

the ocean was too heated

and the dolphins flew away –

defeated

and it’s not like I cheated

destiny

but if you follow me

you would understand

that no ordinary man

comprehends a dream

when all you do is

wake up and scream

because your heart is on fire

The Password

Inflight music

is an oxymoron

when you’re standing on land

so you gotta be

overseeing the expanse

so high that

even a field of

Morning Glory

Lookalikes

Can’t be seen

So delightful

That the sea

Handles light

With precision

And emits love

That defies the spectrum

And this is exuded

in the wavelengths

The password is:

Blue

Yellow Eyes

yellow eyes

the common numerator

but the smile divides

as the appendages

shine

could it be a demon nation?

because the denominator

is more than a cavity

morose minded

a disciplined un-discipled

singled from the pack

added to the flock

usurping the cohort

multiplying mischief
